Cynar has been announced as one of 12 UK finalists to be selected for the European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE).
This follows the recent win that Cynar achieved in the Sustainability Leader’s Awards (a qualifying stage for the EBAE) and recognises the potential of Cynar’s revolutionary waste plastic to liquid fuel technology.
Michael Murray, Founder and CEO of Cynar, said: “Our technology was created out of a desire to better the planet and has the potential to accelerate the growth of the circular economy. We are delighted that the EBAE have recognised our ability to take what is globally seen as problematic rubbish and we turn it into something of value, a renewable source of energy.”
Dr Malcolm Aickin, Chair of the RSA Environment Awards Forum, said “The UK Entrants for the 2014 EBAE have been selected from the winners of 6 of the 13 UK Accredited Award Schemes. The UK has always made an excellent showing in Europe providing significantly more winners than any other European Country. This year the entrants represent a very broad range of activity and diversity of achievement. Their collective strength gives high hopes that our winning record will continue.”
The EBAE awards showcase Europe’s leading eco-innovators, recognising and rewarding businesses that find ways to improve their environmental performance and contribute to sustainable economic development.
